#215 Docs Workshop
Closed: published by rlengland. Opened by rlengland.

Article Summary:

The Docs workshop aims to empower people to learn about templates, issue tickets, review processes, and tool chains to improve documentation for Fedora Linux users and contributors.

See the link on ideation.

Article Description:

To begin with, we could consider gentle introduction on experiences of Docs contributors. We love to hear from hallway track @Flock. That’ll be valuable lessons.

Building on feedback from each session, add more hands-on workshop like below;

  • Introduction on Pagure web interface
  • Interactions with issue tickets and reviewers
  • How to select articles to review
  • How to use AsciiDoc markup
  • How to use local preview and why
  • How to create a new article
  • Best practices

This should go out ASAP. If we are starving for content why is this not scheduled?

It looks like it is waiting on a response from Peter.

Isn't the event scheduled for sept 15? that doesn't leave much time for readers to digest the info and get on board to help. That's all I was wondering.

It's news to me. (I haven't looked at the article yet.)

Hi, this is the line that stands out to me, even though it is the beginning time frame that is being talked about, "If you fancy coming along, just let us know your preferred timeslot in When-is-good scheduler by September 15 2023."
My whole point being to get people to on board for something like documentation, especially since it is technical, can be a task. Time may provide prospective contributors a space to seriously consider it. You know people tend to like to go into things prepared for them.

I just did an editing pass on this article. I guess we can assume that Peter would have commented if there was reason to do so.

@glb I think it an be published but feel free to read through it. I'll let you pull the trigger as soon as you deem it ready.

This has been scheduled to go out at the top of the hour.

I haven't changed the date on the last paragraph. September 15 is the last date of response on When is good scheduler. People are given date range between 18 - 28 September. So, the date on last paragraph needs to be end of September without a specific date. @rlengland could you change that?

Thanks for your heads-up. However, September 15 is response date, not the date the workshop kicks off.

I've changed the last sentence to make that clear.
