#81 Issues with Fedora 41 elections
Closed by siosm. Opened by siosm.

There are a few issues with the current election cycle:

  • https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/program_management/elections/ links to the F40 schedule instead of the F41 one
  • The nomination period for the upcoming elections for F41 is apparently closing tomorrow (2024-12-05) according to the text at the top of https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Development/SteeringCommittee/Nominations but this does not match the schedule at https://fedorapeople.org/groups/schedule/f-41/f-41-elections-tasks.html. The schedule should thus be updated to reflect the new dates
  • The nomination period for the upcoming elections for F41 has not been announced, neither on the community blog nor social media platforms (see post for F40: https://communityblog.fedoraproject.org/f40-elections-nominations-open/)
  • The nomination page text for EPEL is confusing as it talks about the first election for F40 but is title F42: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL/Nominations

Docs page is now updated to F41 - thank you for letting me know! I need to reword some of it though to reflect the elections schedules for all groups, so I wont close this ticket just yet.

Cross-posted the extended nominations period to discussion.fpo https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/extended-nominations-period-for-fesco-closes-thursday-december-5th/139038

Schedule should be now updated for F41 elections to match the nominations date https://fedorapeople.org/groups/schedule/f-41/f-41-elections-tasks.html

Ive updated the EPEL nominations page to try make it a little clearer, but I will have to do more work I think on that as the wikis in general are quite confusing.
