Adding Matrix channel info requested in https://pagure.io/fedora-pgm/pgm_team/issue/3

Thanks @q5sys. It appears to be on the matrix.org homeserver. Is this the permanent host for Fedora channels or is it just temporary until Fedora gets their own homeserver built? If the latter, maybe a note to that effect should be added? Personally, I don't really want to register an account on a system that I will only use for a few weeks.

@glb it will be temporary, but how long "temporary" will be is unknown. I've been hearing about the Fedora since last year, and it hasn't happened yet. I believe Matrix is working on the ability to transfer user accounts between home servers, but I'm not 100% sure on the progress, it may be completed or it may still be in development. I know its possible to move channels to another homeserver because I've done it before with the channels for the Linux/OpenSource podcasts I produce.
Also it doesn't matter what homeserver your user account is registered to join any channels. However if you would rather avoid matrix in the mean time, the matrix channels are bridged with the IRC channel, so in the mean time those are available to use. I added an entry for the IRC.

Edit: Looks like moving user accounts is at least in beta: https://ems.element.io/tools/matrix-migration

We should either drop the parenthetical and just update the docs post move or put a space between "Fedora" and "Project" (and maybe replace "in the future" with "when it becomes available"?)

 Dropped the parenthetical requested.

  • updating the support link to template

Because I made my initial change in main of my fork I went ahead and updated the support link as well.
I didn't think the PR would be open long enough to matter.
So this PR now resolves https://pagure.io/fedora-pgm/pgm_team/issue/3 & https://pagure.io/fedora-pgm/pgm_team/issue/6

Looks good. I'll merge it. A few style points for the future:

  • Please use more descriptive commit messages. "Updated " isn't super helpful when Future Us go to look at the revision history.
  • Some of these could probably have been squashed into a single commit. No big deal, but it makes the history a little easier to understand later.
