#155 [Talk-25] User desktop profiles administration on Fedora with Fleet Commander
Closed: Talk Not Scheduled by mattdm. Opened by ogutierrez.

What is your proposal?

Fleet Commander (https://fleet-commander.org) is a tool that has been developed to allow system administrators to organize and deploy user desktop settings in an easy way.

During this 3 years the project has became from a prototype to a working tool for storing and deploying that settings using profiles that are stored into network domain servers like FreeIPA. Last year our work has been focused on supporting Active Directory.

This talk is about how was it done and how it works.

Who in addition to the speaker needs to be in the room for this to succeed?

Just the speaker

Is this a…

  • 25 minutes: Talk

Anything else we need to know?

Projector with HDMI or/and mini DP for slides

Who are you?

  • Name: Oliver Gutierrez
  • FAS ID: ogutierrez
  • IRC Nick: ogutierrez

Are you proposing a 25 or a 50 minute talk?

25 minutes are Ok

The presentation will be a set of slides explaining what Fleet Commander is, and another set talking about the Active Directory development updates

I reserved the flight tickets today and the only way to get home was to come back on sunday morning.

If the talk is accepted please, take in account i will not be there on sunday.

Thanks

The talk selection committee feels that this particular talk would be better addressed to a general sysadmin audience — we'd support some travel funding to a different conference for that purpose — but that it isn't really right for the Flock contributor/developer audience.

I'm glad you're coming to Flock, though — giving is far from the only reason your presence will be valued!
