'mbs-build local' prints tons on debugging output and hides useful info in between. Please consider adding a '-d' parameter to enable debugging output and hide debugging stuff otherwise.

Isn't this controlled by your LOG_LEVEL?

I would suggest extending mbs-manager with global options -d (debug), -v (verbose) and -q (quiet). Similarly, I would add -d to mbs-build, which would then support the same set of options and would be able to pass it to mbs-manager. The problem is in Flask's add_option, which doesn't work for me as expected. I am trying to solve this first.
-d
-v
-q
add_option
that proposal looks reasonable, although I'm not sure if we need that many levels of verbosity
Yeah - Maybe just three states controlled by two flags? -d debug for more (DEBUG log level) -q for only errors (the WARNING log level), and the default (the INFO log level)?
DEBUG
WARNING
INFO
