I estimate that I can likely get about $450 funding from my professional development funds to help attend FUDCon. This will cover airfare and ground transportation for me, plus some meals and some other incidentals. So what I primarily need funding for is accommodation. I'm willing to share a room with someone, so whatever expected hotel costs are, that is what I would be looking to ask for funding. Anything less than that will be self-funded.
I attended my first FUDCon last year, and learned a lot about what goes on at these events. This year I'd like to have a session on how to get involved with Fedora Weekly News as a beat writer (I will submit a session proposal for this), and if we have Fedora Insight in good shape by then and have active work that can be done there I'd love to participate in that way as well. I do have some Drupal experience, helping manage a Drupal 5.1 instance with about 200 named users for 2.5 years or so for a professional organization, mostly on the content side but also experience with testing modules and such. I'm not a coder, but Drupal takes a bit to get one's head around in terms of how it manages content, and I'm beyond that hump and can help explain this to others.
