the only functional change is in build.sh to accommodate in-tree node packages

i forgot to ask about this note in the README that i think should be more clear[1]

  "this build.sh script relies on no new source files being created"

is that to say that the critical filenames are hard-coded into the script? and so if any new files would need to be accounted for in the build script - it should be stated more verbosely like this if that is the intention - as written it kinda implies that "no new source files may ever be added to this project"
