Has any thought been given to merging efforts with: https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/users/hmh/intel-microcode.git/

AFAICS, both packages have one maintainer, and zero people doing peer review.

There is nothing to review really. And microcode_ctl must be replaced with linux-firmware.
