We still support the tss2 package in RHEL, so we need it to continue to exist in Fedora. We are working on getting a new maintainer from IBM up and running who is the upstream maintainer of tss2, and I've been asked to help since I previously owned TPM in RHEL up until 2021. Since we are still working on getting the new IBM maintainer up and running, I'm willing to take ownership and get it un-retired if that will help move things along while we get him situated and ready to take ownership of the package.
No hard deadline, but if I understood the kernel security team correctly it would have to go through the package review process again after 2023-03-06.
I imagine this will be needed as long as we support TPM 2.0. This is the TPM userspace that IBM uses on RHEL, so at least until that changes.
I'm not sure what the policy is on a package existing in RHEL that doesn't exist in Fedora.
We have same request for tss2 at 11294 well
