#9184 unretire/unblock phonon-qt5, phonon-qt5-backend-gstreamer for f30 (and newer)
Closed: Get back later by mohanboddu. Opened by rdieter.

Please unblock phonon-qt5 and phonon-qt5-backend-gstreamer for f30 and newer.

These were originally epel-only packages, but newer upstream phonon releases support only qt5 (previously supported both qt4 and qt5, built from the same "phonon" and "phonon-backend-gstreamer packages).

Not sure if this situation warrants a new package review or not (I'm ok with that if needed).

@rdieter none of those packages was retired in fedora, but they are missing f30+ branches. Please use fedpkg request-branch And I have unblocked them in koji.

Requested f30/f31 branches, thanks.

Unfortunately, I cannot seem to push anything to master/ branch:

[rdieter@localhost phonon-qt5 (master)]$ fedpkg push

Still blocked:

$ koji list-pkgs  --show-blocked --tag f32 --package phonon-qt5
Package Tag Extra Arches Owner
----------------------- ----------------------- ---------------- ---------------
phonon-qt5 f32 releng [BLOCKED]

@humaton The packages are in fact retired in Fedora:

See for example https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/phonon-qt5/blob/master/f/dead.package

So even though there is an active epel branch, it is retired as far as fedora is concerned and requires a new pkg review?

That's how I read the policy, yes.

thanks!

@rdieter Please reopen the ticket once the review is approved and with a link to that.

We will close it for now.

Thanks.
