Package was orphaned but is maintained upstream and got support for using systemd-logind's D-Bus API to set the brightness. It seems useful for people that want to change the brightness from the command line, in automation or for window managers like sway.

I filed a new review request for the updated package at https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1795018
