fontpackages is retired in F32+ (it’s been replaced by fonts-rpm-macros, which is effectively fontpackages v2, but uses current Fedora naming conventions for macro packages)
fonts-rpm-macros has now been pushed to F31 to make sure the a Fedora spec builds the same way in F31, F32 and F33+
https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2020-296917559c
Therefore, it would be nice to mark fontpackages as retired in F31, as any fontpackages build will be obsoleted by the fonts-rpm-macro packages present in updates
Users may expect further evolutions of fontpackages in F31 when we’ve effectively deprecated it with the fonts-rpm-macros update
Packages cannot be retired in already released Fedoras. The initial "fedora" repo is frozen.
As @churchyard mentioned we cannot retire in F31, therefore closing this.
