One of the things holding me back from speeding ahead with RHEL/CentOS 8 is the lack of a check-mk-agent package. I suggest that it be revived, but only with the agent component.
The package is currently an orphan in both Fedora and EPEL. I volunteer to build it for EPEL, and perhaps also for Fedora.
In contrast to the old package generation, I suggest that the package be built in a way where agent plugins are configured via symlinks in /etc/... instead of symlinks in /usr/share/... . Motivatoin: Configuration (such as plugin activation) belongs in /etc, not in /usr/share.
Unretiring is for people actually doing the unretire process, not asking for someone to do it.
For example: https://pagure.io/releng/issue/9711
OK, so what can I do to help unretiring the package?
@tarvin If you wanna pick up the package, you have to become a maintainer.
Here are the details to become a maintainer - https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Join_the_package_collection_maintainers
I am closing this ticket, once you become a maintainer, please reopen this ticket with the bugzilla review url.
Thanks.
