spectool is known to have issues with non-trivial spec files (see https://pagure.io/rpmdevtools/issue/38 for example). This PR is supposed to fix those issues. Please consider applying.

The spectool implementation has been completely replaced, and sadly this PR no longer applies. Please try the new implementation and see if it solves your problems!
